On a mission to capture the magic of animals with art .

I live on the south coast of the UK…

in a small Roman village with the sea to the south and the South Downs to the north. I studied fine art when I left school, but actually went on to be a Psychological Therapist specialising in trauma. After my children were born, my family life became more of a priority as my son was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy and developmental delay. So I decided it was time to re-visit my artist roots and started to work from home in my log cabin studio.

My love of animals started when I was very young. We had dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits …the list goes on. But my real passion has always been horses. I would ride at my local riding school every week from the age of three right up  into my twenties. I was lucky to have grown up in the countryside of Dorset, and as a child I would often be found at the bottom of the garden drawing horses.

Life as a special needs mum comes with its challenges, so looking after my own mental health is a priority. If I’m not in the studio painting or riding my Gypsy Cob called Grommit.

There’s always a feeling you get when you’re with animals, often its a deep connection and sometimes it’s just a feeling that makes you smile. My goal with my artwork is to capture that feeling.
